“I am currently the Superintendent of Schools for Bald Eagle Area School District,” Whitesel said. “In 2003, I was hired as the junior high principal at Mount Union and transitioned to the senior high in February 2005. I held the position as senior high principal for 15 years. “During my time with West Perry, I taught science for eight years and then was hired as an elementary special education teacher for three years at Southern Huntingdon,” he added. “I began my teaching career in Perry County at the Loysville Youth Development Center,” Whitesel said. “I then moved on to Southern Huntingdon before coming back to my alma mater. He also holds a Pennsylvania Principal’s Certification and a Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility. Whitesel holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in special education, both from Shippensburg University.

He is a 1985 graduate of Mount Union Area High School. Whitesel lives in Wayne Township with his wife, Emily, and his daughters. “I will be getting out to speak with members of my precinct,” Whitesel said, “I look forward to meeting hardworking taxpayers, who have an interest in the school district.” Region 1 consists of Wayne Township, Newton Hamilton Borough, Kistler Borough and Mapleton Borough. Whitesel is seeking the nomination in the May 16, 2023, primary election for Region 1.
